Yohogania County Chronology 1776, Nov 8 - YOHOGANIA (extinct), MONONGALIA (W.Va.) and OHIO (W.Va.) created by Virginia from West Augusta District; YOHOGANIA (extinct), MONONGALIA (W.Va.) and OHIO (W.Va.) overlapped territory claimed by Pennsylvania. (Cappon, Petchenik, and Long, 93; Hening, 9:262-274) 1780 - YOHOGANIA (extinct) lost to WESTMORELAND (Pa.) when Pennsylvania regained effective jurisdiction of the Pittsburgh region from Virginia. (Crumrine, Boundary Controversy, 521-523; Van Zandt, 83) 1785, Oct - YOHOGANIA (extinct) lost all territory to OHIO (W.Va.); YOHOGANIA County eliminated. (Hening, 12:114)
